Let’s take a moment for a 1990s flashback. The creator of the show “In Living Color,” Keenen Ivory Wayans, is hosting a sale of his Mediterranean-style mansion in Tarzana, CA. It’s available at the very 2020 price tag of $3.2 million.

The director of the blockbuster “Scary Movie” bought the not-so-frightening estate in 2005 for $2.6 million.

Overlooking the exclusive El Caballero Country Club and located in a sought-after gated community, the home was built in 2004, and features five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and 6,300 square feet of living space.

The massive entry has a skylight overhead that infuses the interior with natural light.

The living spaces include ceilings with exposed beams and doors that open out to the backyard and pool.

A kitchen features granite counters, a six-burner stove, and an island that overlooks a living area and breakfast nook with French doors. A separate, formal dining room also has French doors and a modern light fixture overhead.

A second-floor master suite offers a walk-in closet and dressing area, a bathroom with dual sinks and a separate shower, as well as a private balcony.

Other details include a home office for those working or schooling from home. The layout includes an “optional” gym, a home theater, and a laundry room.

There’s little need to leave the property, set on about a half-acre, given that so many recreational activities are offered on the grounds. Starting with the “estate-sized” swimming pool, the space also sports a spa, outside dining area, a sport court, and a fireplace. Alternatively, you could always hit the links at the nearby golf course.

A member of the Wayans family of entertainers, Keenen, 62, came to prominence in the 1990s with his groundbreaking sketch comedy show, “In Living Color.”  He also wrote “Hollywood Shuffle” and directed the blockbuster “Scary Movie.”

More recently, the New York native served as a judge on the eighth season of “Last Comic Standing.” He also co-wrote and executive produced the third season of the TBS comedy “The Last O.G.,” starring Tiffany Haddish and Tracy Morgan.

Geoffrey Gilstrap with Dwell California Real Estate and Investments holds the listing.
