The S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller U.S. National Home Price Index rose 5.8% year-over-year in December, compared to a 7.6% gain in November.

Still deep in positive territory, home-price gains post steep declines in latest Case-Shiller 

In Atlanta, home prices posted a 20.1% year-over-year gain in August, compared to a 22.8% gain in July. Month over month, prices fell 0.4%.

Home-price gains were once again broadly distributed, as all 20 cities in the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Home Price Index rose, although in most cases at a slower rate than a month ago.

S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller: Home-price gains set fourth record in a row

The 10-city composite index rose 1.4% on a monthly basis and 19.1% on a yearly basis, while the 20-city composite gained 1.5% monthly and 19.9% annually.

S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller: Home-price gains “truly extraordinary”

In Atlanta, the index rose 1.7% month over month and 12.3% year over year. The monthly increase was slightly down from the 1.8% rise recorded in March.
