Six-time MLB All-Star Chase Utley is ready to be a landlord in Southern California.

Now retired, the slugging second baseman recently put his lovely five-bedroom, five-bathroom home in Los Angeles on the rental market for $42,000 a month.

After spending 13 seasons starring for the Philadelphia Phillies, Utley spent four seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, finishing his big-league career in 2018.

An L.A.-area native, Utley purchased this pretty property in the city’s Brentwood neighborhood in June 2017 for $5,446,500.

The home was built in 1930.

Traditional elegance rules the day in this beautiful home with solid bones. Attractive design elements include stained-glass windows and wood beams overhead. There’s also an abundance of built-ins, including bookshelves and seating in window bays.

A home office, formal dining room, and family room on the main level are delightfully designed spaces, while the kitchen is nicely outfitted with Viking appliances and a breakfast nook.

On the second floor, the main bedroom is a calm oasis, complete with a fireplace, seating area, walk-in closet, and views of the yard.

Double vanities, a soaking tub, and rain shower comprise the primary bathroom, and there are blackout shades that darken the space when needed. Outside, a pool and spa await, along with a fireplace, guesthouse with its own kitchen, and lovely gardens.

Utley, 45, made his big-league debut with the Phillies in 2003. He won a World Series with the team in 2008 and was named a Silver Slugger in four straight seasons. In his retirement, Utley has gone on to serve Major League Baseball in a new way—as the league’s ambassador to Europe. In this role, Utley is tasked with promoting the game by working with overseas players and coaches.
