Comedian and actress Sarah Silverman and her sisters are letting go of a family house filled with memories.
They’re selling the Boca Raton, FL, home where parents Donald and Janice Silverman lived since 1999. The place is listed for $839,900.
‘Loved and cared for’ home
“They had it for a long time, so [Sarah] was back and forth—she spent a lot of time there,” says listing agent Nikki Klein, of Brilliant Living with EXP Realty. “The energy really felt great in there. It felt like it was a home that had been loved and cared for.”
The father of the stand-up comedian died in May 2023, just days after Silverman’s stepmother Janice’s death. The two were married 40 years. Now, the family is parting with the long-time property.
Sunset views
The 2,200-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bath home sits in a gated community. A lofted area in the residence could be used as a fourth sleeping space.
“My favorite thing about the house is the positioning so that you have sunset views,” Klein says. “I think it’s really private and quiet. The second floor has an expanded primary bedroom, and it’s got windows that directly look over the golf course, a lake, and the sunset. It looks just majestic.”
The view also includes the 18th hole of Boca Country Club.
“It is a public golf course now, so you don’t have membership fees,” Klein notes.
The neighborhood has a monthly HOA fee of $497.
The property comes with a pool, although it is currently covered with a platform.
“It has not been used for many, many years,” Klein reveals. “I think they covered it, because they preferred to sit outside and watch the sunsets instead of being in the pool.”
The buyer could explore the possibility of uncovering the pool to get it working again, she adds.
Based on personal preferences, updates could be made to elements such as carpet and wallpaper, Klein says. But the kitchen and primary bathroom were recently redone.
“When I first walked into the house, I loved the tall ceilings, I liked the layout,” Klein recalls. “You can feel the happy memories.”
The comedian, 53, is known for her subversive and controversial takes. She won an Emmy for her TV special, “We Are Miracles.” Her memoir, “The Bedwetter,” was adapted into an off-Broadway musical. Silverman’s acting roles have included voicing Vanellope in “Wreck-It Ralph” and most recently as Shirley Bernstein in the movie, “Maestro.”
