Record executive and producer L.A. Reid has worked with many a superstar, including Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Babyface, and Rihanna. So it makes sense that he’d have a superstar mansion in the lofty perch of Bel Air.

Reid first listed the Los Angeles home for $21.5 million in March 2023 but has since trimmed the ask to $17.5 million.

Artistic abode

This is not one of the typical glass-box mansions that seems to have sprouted up everywhere in the area.

Reid’s 11,246-square-foot spread was built in 2014 and is extraordinarily artistic and thoughtful. No space or surface was left unconsidered.

“Each room is intentionally curated to create a harmonious yet functional atmosphere,” the listing notes.

Almost every room is also designed to take advantage of the stellar canyon views. The great room has floor-to-ceiling, glass walls and sliding doors to illuminate the surroundings. Standout features include a towering and distinctive double-sided fireplace, a floating staircase with a glass railing, and exquisitely designed light fixtures.

The open kitchen has an elegant yet comfortable vibe, with its oversized, double-island layout; natural stone-slab countertops; and custom, natural-wood cabinetry, all enhanced by generous windows with unobstructed canyon views. The space also offers access to a fabulous breakfast deck.

There are seven bedrooms and 10 baths in the modern manse. In the lavish primary suite, a wellness-focused bathroom is outfitted with a walk-in infrared sauna, red light therapy machine, large bathtub, and a steam shower that also overlooks the landscape.

Outdoor oasis

Set on an acre, the grounds feature an infinity pool and spa, outdoor kitchen, and a gazebo, all surrounded by—you guessed it: incredible vistas.

Although it was immaculately designed when the Reids first moved in “a few years ago,” according the Robb Report, they added a studio (of course) and a plush home theater with a posh bar, inspired by the couple’s favorite hotel in Paris.

The furniture, much of which was custom made, is not included in the listing price. But the Reids told the Robb Report that they are open to selling a number of their pieces to the new owners, excluding the ones with great personal value.

Just imagine sipping a cocktail or reclining on a lounge where Rihanna might have sat. Priceless?

As one of America’s top music executives, Antonio Marquis “L.A.” Reid, 67, has served as CEO of Epic Records, The Island Def Jam Music Group, and Arista Records. He also co-founded his own record label, Hitco Entertainment. He appeared as a judge on the first two seasons “The X Factor” and has won three Grammys for producing and songwriting.
