Super Bowl-winning Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has scored once again—this time, with a $28.2 million purchase in the star-studded community of Hidden Hills.

Stafford and his wife, Kelly, set a neighborhood record when they bought a brand-new home on a parcel that once belonged to Jennifer Lopez. The former record was a $26 million estate that sold in 2023.

Back in 2022, the Staffords bought a $10.5 million Hidden Hills property that included a 1980s, red-brick house and vineyard.

Now with the purchase of the neighboring property, the Staffords have a 3-acre compound with two very fancy homes and two swimming pools. Their expanded domain now has an estimated worth close to $40 million, according to the Robb Report.

J. Lo’s history with the property is an interesting one. In 2010, she bought the parcel where Stafford’s recent purchase now stands. Lopez then built a huge home that featured nine bedrooms, 13 baths, eight fireplaces. The opulent abode also included a state-of-the-art work/entertainment wing with a 20-seat theater, bar, plus dance and recording studios. She sold the property in 2017 for $10 million.

A savvy developer came along, demolished J. Lo’s work and divided the property in half, building two elegant spec homes on the lot. The Staffords purchased the spec home next door to the place they bought in 2022. The other spec mansion is currently on the market for the ambitious price of $40 million.

Since Stafford’s new acquisition was only recently finished and sold off-market without being listed on the MLS, no completed photos of the 15,000-square-foot mansion were released.

The Robb reports quotes “online sources” as saying that the brand-new spec mansion is “a striking glassy contemporary-meets-modern farmhouse sort of structure, with a dash of Napa Valley retreat style thrown in for good measure.”

It appears that the Staffords love the Hidden Hills area even more than Kim Kardashian does. While Kardashian once owned four homes in the upscale area, the Staffords have owned at least five houses—all bought (and some sold) within the past three years. They purchased two of their Hidden Hills homes from Drake. Their latest sale in the guarded and gated community came about in 2022, and involved a modern mansion that changed hands for $21 million.

While Kardanshian’s family members have bought and sold mansions in Hidden Hills as well, it seems the Rams roster is now taking over the posh enclave. Current and former Rams Jalen Ramsey, Cooper Kupp, Sean McVay, and Aaron Donald have also lived there. A likely factor is that the Rams’ proposed training facility will be in the nearby Warner Center of Woodland Hills, and these stars won’t have to deal with L.A.’s legendary traffic on a daily basis.

Stafford, 35, ranks in the top 12 of all-time for pass attempts, pass completions, passing yards, and passing touchdowns. He is the fastest player in NFL history to have reached 40,000 career passing yards. He was drafted in 2009 after his third year at the University of Georgia by the Detroit Lions, where he played until 2021, when he was traded to the Los Angeles Rams. That same season he led the Rams to a Super Bowl LVI victory, then signed a four-year, $160 million extension with the team.
