If you think the priciest home in the Silver State is an outrageously glitzy, celeb-owned palace with easy access to the Las Vegas strip—guess again.
In fact, the most expensive listing in Nevada isn’t anywhere near Vegas. It’s located at the other end of the state, on the shores of Lake Tahoe in the town of Incline Village, NV, and it made news when it recently landed on the market for $76 million. That sky-high price launched it onto the most expensive homes list on Realtor.com®.
Known as the The Old Forge – Wynn Estate, it does have a Las Vegas connection: It was originally purchased in 1993 by casino mogul Steve Wynn for $8,125,000. He developed the massive estate, then sold it five years later for $17 million.
The current owners bought the 5-acre, lakefront property for $31,100,000 in 2017, then spent millions to renovate the home as it’s offered today, according to the Robb Report.
Legacy estate
It’s most certainly a one-of-a-kind legacy property, located on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe. Surrounded by towering pines, it sits on 210 feet of private, sandy beach and includes a deep-water pier for the freshwater yacht, a boat hoist, and a personal watercraft platform.
The entire estate is walled and gated, with a state-of-the-art security system.
The luxuries in this seven-bedroom, 11-bath estate are abundant. Among them are unobstructed views of the pristine mountain lake, as seen from massive windows throughout the mansion.
The 12,661-square-foot main residence is constructed of locally sourced wood and stone. It contains three en suite bedrooms along with a remarkably plush primary suite that boasts wraparound, floor-to-ceiling views of the lake.
The main house also includes a dedicated wellness room/gym, a gourmet kitchen, spacious media/game room with a bar, an extensive wine room, and multiple outdoor decks and balconies.
The compound also includes a 1,536-square-foot, three-bedroom guesthouse, situated privately among the pines.
There’s plenty of room to accommodate a multigenerational family on this grand estate. While the beach and lake accessibility make it an ideal summer getaway, it could also be an irresistible family retreat for holiday gatherings in the winter, as well.
