Former Pittsburgh Steelers left guard Alan Faneca is looking to sell his riverfront home in Virginia Beach, VA, for $3.75 million.

The Hall of Famer’s five-bedroom house offers more than 5,650 square feet and comes with views of the Lynnhaven River, which is particularly spectacular at sunset.

Bright white rooms, flooded with natural light and water vistas, create a calm atmosphere in this pretty pad. An elegant, open plan flows seamlessly through the living and dining rooms. The nearby kitchen, with its luxe appliances and butler’s pantry, is a study in both utility and beauty.

The primary bedroom is spacious and has a seating area and a beautiful bathroom with a soaking tub near a window. Other amenities include a laundry room on each level and two flex rooms, which could work as a playroom, home office, or personal yoga studio.

But the main attraction is right outside—every possible iteration of water fun. There’s swimming, fishing, paddling, and more. The property comes with dual boat lifts and a floating dock, which allow quick access to the river. There’s also a wraparound, covered patio near the pool, spa, and gazebo—plus a grassy lawn that stretches to the water’s edge.

Faneca began his successful gridiron career at Louisiana State University, then was picked by the Steelers in the first round of the 1998 draft. He was a stalwart along the offensive line for Pittsburgh and was named an All-Pro six times. He was a key member of the team’s 2005 Super Bowl champion squad.

During his playing days, Faneca was known for his impressive size (he tipped the scales at 322 pounds in his early days). But once he left the NFL behind, he famously lost more than 100 pounds and took up marathon running.
