For the third time in four seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs are prepping for the Super Bowl.

We’ve previously covered their homes thanks to their appearances in football’s supreme showcase in 2020 and 2021, so what’s left to be said about the real estate of these AFC overlords?

MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes hasn’t made any huge moves to add any properties to his extensive portfolio, but there’s quite a bit of property we’ve yet to uncover when it comes to the homes of the Chiefs. And with consistent roster churn a fact of life in the NFL, there are a few new characters in town making a splash in the luxury housing market.

Chiefs owner Clark Hunt has also remained stable at his mansion in the heart of Dallas’ ritziest neighborhood. But we’d be remiss if we neglected to mention where the Hunt family likely stays when they’re in Kansas City: a three-bedroom apartment built right into Arrowhead Stadium:

The rest of the Chiefs squad has to settle for living quarters outside the stadium itself. While they do have to commute to work, keeping a work-life balance is important. Or so we hear. Let’s have a look at where the Chiefs live.

The star QB: Patrick Mahomes

The well-paid star of the Chiefs is headed to his third Super Bowl appearance, and we’ve chronicled his residences. He still owns the starter two-bedroom apartment in Kansas City, MO, which he purchased as a rookie in late 2017—although he unsuccessfully tried to sell it in 2019.

He still owns his tricked-out home in the city’s suburbs complete with the massive shoe closet.

And as we reported in 2021, he also owns a luxe four-bedroom home in Westlake, TX, for the off-season.

His purchase of an undeveloped plot of land in the gated Loch Lloyd neighborhood right along the state line hasn’t resulted in a massive mansion. But these things take time. Satellite photos of the property show a plot of land has been cleared, but there are no signs of a structure on it—yet.

The head coach: Andy Reid

It’s a clash with extra meaning for Reid in Super Bowl LVII, with the Chiefs taking on the Philadelphia Eagles, a team that he helmed for 14 seasons. The former Eagles head coach has had far more success in the Midwest and is seeking his second Super Bowl ring.

He’s remained in the same brick four-bedroom home in Kansas City’s Plaza neighborhood, which he purchased for $2.2 million in early 2013.

Reid also owns an off-season home in sunny Southern California that we’ve never covered. Located right on the beach near Dana Point, the five-bedroom residence looks like a perfect getaway for the precious little downtime afforded to a head coach in the NFL.

Reid purchased the home in a gated community adjacent to Pacific Coast Highway for $3,999,000 in August 2006, during the middle of his coaching stint in Philly.

The general manager: Brett Veach

As the general manager of the team since 2017, Veach works hand in hand with Reid to construct the Chiefs roster. This will be Veach’s third go-round at the big game.

He’s remained in the same modest four-bedroom home in Lee’s Summit, MO, that he purchased in 2016 for an undisclosed amount. Brand-new and listed for $452,850 seven years ago, the two-story home was marketed as “perfect for everyday family activities and special occasion entertaining.”

Tight end Travis Kelce

Unlike his brother (and Philadelphia Eagles star center) Jason Kelce, All-Pro pass catcher Travis is harder to pin down. While Jason owns quite a few properties, Travis owns just one place that we’ve spotted.

Owned by an LLC formed in Ohio (Kelce’s home state), the four-bedroom home in the city’s Briarcliff West neighborhood is the same place we connected to Travis in 2021.

He hasn’t moved or bought any other properties that we’re aware of. But with over $60 million in career earnings, the 10-year veteran has plenty of cash to spend on a luxury home anywhere his heart desires.

Defensive lineman Chris Jones

The All-Pro defensive tackle still owns the same six-bedroom home in Overland Park, KS, that he purchased in September 2020 for $1.85 million. Following the Super Bowl, Jones will have a single year remaining on his deal with the Chiefs.

He’s likely headed toward a well-earned extension with the team—or perhaps a rich free agent deal elsewhere. Either way, it’s easy to envision Jones going even bigger than his current 9,163-square-foot abode.

Wide receiver Kadarius Toney

Acquired midseason from the New York Giants, the second-year pro out of Florida scored a couple of touchdowns for the Chiefs in 2022. After inking a four-year, $13.7 million rookie deal with the Giants in 2021, Toney took some of that dough and bought a six-bedroom mansion in Douglasville, GA, for $935,000 in March 2022.

The spacious 6,885-square-foot home had been on the market for $950,000, so Toney scored a slight deal on the 2006 build. Highlights of the gated residence in the outer suburbs of Atlanta include an updated kitchen, a private deck off the primary suite, and a large finished basement.

Perhaps Toney will use some of that ample basement space to set up a recording studio. Aside from his on-field talents, he’s also a rapper who goes by the name of Yung Joka.

Kicker Harrison Butker

While the life of any NFL player is here today, gone tomorrow, kickers seem to be the most fungible. A couple of bad games, a crucial missed field goal, and a botched extra point are all it takes for a team to sever ties.

Which is what makes Butker’s six-year career with the Chiefs relatively refreshing. And because he’s been dependable, Butker’s felt comfortable enough to put down roots in the Kansas City area. In September 2019, the man with the premium toe and camera-ready looks closed on a six-bedroom home in Lee’s Summit that had been on the market for $550,000.

Located on a cul-de-sac, the 5,600-square-foot residence includes a three-season porch, a primary bathroom with a heated floor, and a walk-out lower level complete with a second kitchen.

Wide receiver Mecole Hardman

Back from the injured reserve list, the extremely fast Hardman is hoping for a stellar showcase on football’s biggest stage. After the game ends, he’ll be a free agent and is likely lined up for a pretty nice payday. He didn’t spend a ton of dough from his rookie contract on his first home, opting for a modest purchase in his home state.

In July 2019, the wideout bought a brick four-bedroom residence in Winder, GA, for $396,000. About midway between Atlanta and Athens (where he starred in college), the home sits on 1.46 acres. It features two bonus rooms, which could be converted into bedrooms, making it a very family-friendly spread. There’s also a big backyard along with a pool.

Depending on where he winds up in the 2023 season, Hardman will likely add another property to his portfolio.

Wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling

Fellow wide receiver Valdes-Scantling joined the Chiefs for the 2022 campaign after four seasons on the frozen tundra with the Green Bay Packers.

Although he signed a three-year, $30 million deal to join Kansas City, the tall target didn’t exactly go big on a baller mansion in Missouri.

Instead, he purchased a relatively basic four-bedroom home in the suburb of Liberty, MO. The four-bedroom residence was on the market for $434,900, before Valdes-Scantling snapped it up for an undisclosed amount in July 2022. The brand-new, ranch-style abode features high-end finishes and a large kitchen.

It backs up to open space and features a walk-out lower level. Listing photos show the backyard will need some finishes if the receiver hopes to entertain a crowd, but we’re sure he’s splurged on a little landscaping.

In addition to his recent Missouri purchase, the Florida native has two additional homes in the Tampa Bay area. He bought a fixer-upper in St. Petersburg in 2019 for $154,600 and a small three-bedroom home in Tampa for $265,000 in January 2020.
