Many high-end homes come with deluxe perks like outdoor living areas with poolside fire pits and seating. Then there are pricey palaces such as this Sarasota, FL, mansion on Flamingo Avenue that boasts a sunken lounge that’s actually in the pool.

This cool pool feature is just one of many luxuries on offer with the area’s most expensive property. Let’s take a closer look.

“You take five or six steps down into this circular seating area, which is amazing for hanging out and having conversations and a glass of wine,” says listing agent Joel Schemmel, with Premier Sotheby’s International Realty. “It’s one of the really interesting elements of the outdoor space.

“You also have an enormous swim-up bar where, on one side, you can swim up to bar stools in the water, and the other two sides are a bar where people can sit on bar stools,” Schemmel continues.

The outdoor fun does come with a high price. The waterfront palace is listed for $22 million, and it’s being sold furnished.

Built for Florida living

The sprawling spread with unique design elements is built for Florida living.

“It’s just kind of amazing how the indoor and outdoor space blend together, and you’ve got all these vignettes of different spaces outside that make it interesting,” Schemmel says. “You have a little living room with a wood-burning fireplace and a dining pavilion with a big living wall on one side.”

A koi pond snakes its way around most of the outdoor space.

“The colors of the water in the koi pond, in the pool, and in the bay are all very similar, so it looks just like a piece of glass walking out to the bay,” Schemmel explains.

The home was built in 2016 and totals 8,138 square feet, with eye-catching details in every room.

“What’s fun about it are things like wall coverings, which normally you don’t see that often. They are kind of a centerpiece as you go from room to room,” Schemmel explains. “Each room has a different energy to it but are all super unique, and every room is curated to have a certain kind of energy.”

Entertaining spaces galore

There are four bedrooms and four full bathrooms.

“It’s a big house, but it’s cozy and comfortable, too,” Schemmel says, adding that the original owners didn’t need many bedrooms and preferred multiple entertaining spaces.

The current sellers are the second owners, who picked up the place in 2019 for $10,500,000.

“You have that amazing outdoor bar, but you also have this crazy indoor bar with the Jurassic stone and onyx top. The space all flows together for entertaining.”

Other amenities include a dual-island kitchen, game room, home theater, fitness area, and meditation room, according to the listing.

Waterfront features

The 1.4-acre lot has 700 feet of waterfront. There’s a dock with access to deep water, as well as a kayak and paddleboard launch.

“The dock setup is great. There’s a boat lift there already, but you could certainly put in a bigger one,” Schemmel says.

“This is in a really good location on the north end of Siesta Key, and I think the first time you see it, you’re kind of shocked because it is hidden. You don’t even know it’s there until the gate opens and you enter onto the peninsula,” Schemmel says. “It has kind of this majestic feel to it.”
