Retail store manager. Many moons ago, I wanted to be a fashion stylist in the entertainment industry, so I thought this would be the perfect way to parlay into the space. I wasn’t completely wrong and did meet a real fashion stylist for an artist signed to So So Def. She came in often, and we developed a rapport. She invited me to a Christmas video shoot to assist her. I was elated! It was A LOT of work managing big personalities with the celebrities on set, but a very cool experience.

Where did you grow up?

Decatur. Yes… I am a Georgia Native!

Growing up, what did you want to be?

A dentist. I obviously ended up changing my mind!

Hot yoga, walk the Atlanta Beltline or get to a beach.

If I had to choose only one, it would be Michelle Obama. I read her book, “Becoming,” and had the opportunity to attend her live event here in Atlanta. Her grace under pressure has always been impressive. The ability to rise above while acknowledging tough conversations and topics that will not go away is inspiring. I believe I could learn a lot from her that would be more than applicable to my everyday life as a mom, friend, daughter, sister but could also apply some priceless nuggets I’m certain she would share to my real estate career.

For those of us from here, I think we forget the city and all the amazing attractions, both indoor and outdoor, that bring millions here each year for vacation. The Atlanta Beltline, the somewhat new vegan restaurant scene popping up all over, the helicopter rides you can reserve and take to see the city from on high. We also have a pretty robust film industry that is only growing!

I love helping my clients assess what their goals are and how we as a team can strategize to find the best fit to meet those goals.

My experience of over 18 years, with 8 being in commercial real estate, sets me apart. I help my clients understand that real estate should always be seen as an investment. It’s either a short- or long-term investment for some gain/goal. Once we define the gain/goal desired, it’s exciting for me to help my clients reach that goal.

Counseling clients to stay focused and not to take advice for multiple people who are NOT their Realtor (me) or their lender. This can get clients off track.

Don’t be a secret agent. Talk to people. Make cold calls. Yes, social media is great, but it cannot be the only tool. Think outside the box what niche speaks to you, then get after it.

The Flat Iron Building

I had a client I had clearly told NOT to buy ANYTHING on a credit line until at least two weeks after closing. He did not listen and bought a BMW 6 Series before closing and called me to say it was all good because he had enough credit and cash to offset the debt. Well, he was wrong, and we did not close. He begged me to figure out a way to fix it, he promised to take the car back, etc. Needless to say, it did not work out in his favor.

That I can roller skate and ice skate.

The beach. I feel immediately relaxed and peaceful whenever I am on the beach. It is one of my happiest places to be.
