Bernard Garrett Sr., an American businessman, real estate investor and banker. He is  credited with being the first African-American man to own banks during the Jim Crow era. The movie, The Banker, released in 2019, is based on his life story.

The Alfred “Tup” Holmes Memorial Golf Course, whose namesake was a civil rights pioneer who helped end desegregation at public golf courses. The course’s clubhouse has a treasure trove of history and memorabilia on display chronicling the game of golf for African-Americans and the journey to desegregate Atlanta’s public parks.

Being mistaken for celebrity chef Roger Mooking of Food Network’s “Man, Fire, Food” while on vacation in Florida. A group of tourists wanted to take picture with me. I tried to tell them I wasn’t him, but they didn’t believe me, so I went along with it! Imagine their surprise when they looked back at the photos.
