After selling her Saddle River, NJ, estate at a huge loss last year, the chart-topper Mary J. Blige is taking another shot at selling her other New Jersey home.

But, this time, she’s raised the price. So what’s the 411 with her real estate?

Her Cresskill, NJ, abode first came on the market back in 2019 for $2.25 million. If it had sold at that amount, it would have represented a small upside to the $1.95 million she paid in 2001.

The Cresskill home drifted off the market, but returned this week with a price tag of $2.75 million. The listing agent on the Cresskill home is Sharon Kurtz with Prominent Properties Sotheby’s International Realty, who also handled the Saddle River sale.

The spacious North Jersey contemporary, about an hour from midtown Manhattan, features six bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, and two half-bathrooms.

On 7,000 square feet, the huge home on 1.1 acres offers a gym, guest quarters, an office, and three fireplaces. In addition, the floor plan includes a finished basement, as well as an attached garage.

It was built in the 1990s and is set on a cul-de-sac. The grounds feature large wood decks that overlook the pool, for easy warm-weather entertaining.

At the time the Oscar nominee listed both of her New Jersey homes, reports surfaced that she also owed over $1 million in back taxes.

Her financial responsibilities had been mounting, with a reported $30,000 a month in spousal support payment going to her ex-husband and manager, Martin “Kendu” Isaacs.

So it makes sense that Blige would attempt to wring as much value as possible from a home sale.

Saddle River spread

Her other palace on the market finally sold last year. The queen of hip-hop soul and Grammy winner had picked up a French-style manor in Saddle River in 2008 for a hefty $12.3 million.

The luxury gated estate features 12,600 square feet and 4.2 acres and offers upscale perks like a double-height foyer, grand reception rooms, two formal dining rooms, a bar, and a library.

The acreage includes a large lawn, pool, and patio, and multiple outdoor spaces. Other amenities include a gym, home theater, and Los Angeles Lakers-themed indoor sport court.

The mansion first came on the market in 2015 for $13 million. But with no buyers on board, Blige knocked the price down by almost half. It spent years on the market, with multiple price cuts, and she finally let the home go for $5.5 million last year.

Despite all the real estate drama, the singer and actress can boast about her many talents. She was an Oscar nominee both as an actress and as a songwriter for the 2017 Netflix movie “Mudbound.”

Since emerging in the 1990s, Blige has released 13 studio albums, eight of which have achieved multiplatinum status.
