The Grammy-winning musician Marc Anthony is also a winner in the world of real estate. He’s just sold his swanky estate in Coral Gables, FL. The massive Mediterranean mansion closed for a hefty $22,416,000.

The high-flying price is 17% lower than the superstar’s initial asking price of $27 million in September 2020, but even so, the musician can walk away humming a happy tune.

Anthony, whose given name is Marco Antonio Muñiz, purchased the property in 2018 for $19 million.

As we’ve reported, Anthony picked up the waterfront abode from the Bacardi heiress Hilda Maria Bacardi, who spent eight years overseeing its construction. Bacardi initially wanted $18 million in 2014, while the home, known as Villa Costanera, was still under construction.

Eventually, the home builder listed the finished project for $27.26 million in 2016, then reduced the price to $25 million the following year. She finally let it go at a heavily reduced price to Anthony.

Located on the exclusive Islands of Cocoplum, the picturesque property overlooks gardens and the Coral Gables Waterway.

Designed by Rafael Portuondo, its interiors are filled with arched windows and doorways, built-in seating, and coffered ceilings. Natural light pours into every room.

With 20,546 square feet of exquisite living space, the layout contains 12 bedrooms,13 full bathrooms, and two powder rooms.

Along with a formal living room and dining room, the floor plan includes a family room, an eat-in kitchen with dual islands, and a butler’s pantry. An expansive master suite offers a sitting area and two bathrooms.

Luxe details include an elevator, wine cellar, gym, and staff quarters.

The property is set on 1.3 acres, and outdoor entertainment includes a summer kitchen, covered terraces, a heated pool, and a spa.

Anthony is the top-selling tropical salsa artist of all time. The winner of three Grammys and seven Latin Grammys has sold 12 million albums worldwide.

Chad Carroll with Compass represented the buyer. Anamaria Velasquez with Nexxos Realty represented the seller.
