The NBA free agent DeMarcus Cousins has tossed his Las Vegas home to a new owner for $7.5 million, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The two-level home came on the market in 2020 for $8 million, but its price was dropped to $7.7 million just last month. The reduction appears to have spurred a buyer into action.

And although it’s not the price that the All-Star originally wanted, he still comes out ahead. He purchased the enormous estate in 2017 for $6.5 million.

Once he moved in, the All-Star added some custom touches, such as an ultra-deluxe fish tank, which is pictured in the listing photos. In 2018, Cousins appeared on the Animal Planet show “Tanked” to commission a custom aquarium for the Vegas digs.

Just as competitive off the court, Cousins tells the experts he wants to create a splashy fish palace after seeing the sea creature creation of his fellow All-Star and former teammate Anthony Davis, who also appeared on the show.

He requests one that’s “classy,” not kitschy, in a corner of his bar, and naturally, “100 times better” than the one Davis has.

“I want a lot of color, a lot of personality with the fish,” Cousins says on the episode.

The result is an L shape with two tanks. A wall cutout is added, and the tank can be viewed from both inside and outside the house. The tank can be seen from the listing photos, but it’s not clear if the aquatic feature stayed intact for the next owner. While that’s possible, the exotic fish probably swam away with the player.

Even without the tank, the home is an MVP. With 20,120 square feet, the giant spread offers 10 beds and 11 bathrooms.

The listing describes the property as “modern luxury meets Mediterranean.” Built in 2003, the renovated space opens to a circular drive and a motor court with a 12-car garage.

Entered through double doors, the expansive open layout includes a formal living room and dining room, and a gourmet kitchen that opens to the family room and wet bar. From across the room, you can see the corner fish tank.

The giant master suite includes an oversized, spalike bath. Other amenities include three offices, a home theater, game room, elevator, wellness spa, state-of-the-art gym, and, of course, an indoor basketball court.

Outside, the landscaped, 2-acre compound sports a pool with waterfall, and a pool guesthouse with a kitchen.

Now 30, Cousins, nicknamed “Boogie,” is a free agent, after being released by the Houston Rockets in February. He was drafted in the first round in 2010 by the Sacramento Kings.

In addition to his seven-season tenure in California’s capital, the four-time All-Star has also played for the New Orleans Pelicans and Golden State Warriors.
