Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick has tossed his Tribeca apartment onto the market. He’s asking for $3,450,000.

The athlete and activist picked up the two-bedroom, three-bathroom pad in New York City for $3,210,000 in 2017. That was during a time marked by controversy for Kaepernick.

In 2016, when he was the San Francisco 49ers quarterback, he began kneeling during the pre-game performance of the national anthem to protest racial inequality. His silent protest spurred a wider protest movement across the NFL.

Kaepernick became a free agent after the 49ers released him in early 2017, but he received no interest from the NFL’s other clubs. He filed a grievance against the NFL for what he believed to be a political decision against him and eventually reached a settlement. He never played another snap in the league.

As for the apartment he’s ready to leave behind, no controversy there: It’s a pristine showcase.

Spanning nearly 1,800 square feet, the unit offers daylong sunlight from south, east, and west exposures.

The home is in “immaculate condition” and includes a storage room as well as a parking spot, according to the listing.

Upgrades include central AC, remodeled baths, closet built-ins, and in-unit laundry. There’s also a sound system throughout.

The downtown Manhattan jewel box is part of a boutique condo building. It offers residents a full-time door attendant, an on-site resident manager, a private parking garage, a gym, and an outdoor heated pool.

The locale at the corner of Tribeca and SoHo is close to shops, restaurants, art galleries, and transit options.

Kaepernick, 36, played college ball with the Nevada Wolf Pack. In the 2011 draft, he was selected by the 49ers in the second round. The QB played for six seasons for the 49ers and led the team to the playoffs in 2012 and 2013.

Although he never signed with another team, Kaepernick is reported to have an ongoing deal with Nike.
