HGTV’s ‘Rock the Block’ Season 4 Home Designed by Jonathan Knight and Kristina Crestin Sells for $2.8M

After 9 months and multiple price cuts, an ultramodern farmhouse featured on Season 4 of HGTV’s “Rock the Block” has sold for $2,850,000.

Located in Berthoud, CO, the five-bedroom residence was designed by HGTV’s “Farmhouse Fixer” stars Jonathan Knight and Kristina Crestin.

This is the third of four homes, featured on the Ty Pennington-hosted competition show, to have sold.

The episode, which aired last spring, challenged four designer duos of home renovation experts to uniquely outfit four newly constructed residences, ranging in value from $3,150,000 to $3,450,000.

Each of the homes was then evaluated by a panel of judges. The winning property was the one that garnered the highest-appraised value at the end of the competition. Then, buyers got a chance to weigh in.

Selling points

Originally listed for $3,250,000 when it hit the market in May 2023, Knight and Crestin’s stylishly designed home has since seen several price drops.

The fully furnished, 5,811-square-foot interior boasts soaring cathedral ceilings with exposed beams, built-in window seating, and glass walls with dazzling waterfront views of McNeil Lake.

A showstopping kitchen features a curved, marble island; custom lighting; and a light-filled dining area with access to the back deck, which boasts a built-in grill and smoker.

The “Colorado Room” was designed to seamlessly transition to the outdoor living space, with its gorgeous glass garage door.

The bunk room is a beautifully designed space for kids.

Other highlights include two guest en suites and a room with built-in bunk beds, outfitted just for kids. Designed for entertaining, the walk-out lower level offers a pub-style bar, arcade games, and pool room.

According to the listing, the sale also included a $40,000 golf membership to Tournament Players Club’s world-renowned course, plus access to a community pool with swim-up bar, fitness studio, and golf simulator.

3 sold, one still available

If you missed out on grabbing one of these designer-done domiciles, fear not: The remaining home still available, styled by Michael Smith Boyd and Anthony Elle, was actually the winner of the “Rock the Block” competition. Now, it’s looking for a win on the market. Originally listed for $3,150,000, the home’s price was reduced to $2,895,000 last fall.

Offered fully furnished, the four-bedroom residence features many luxurious details, including designer wallpaper, a speakeasy, and an outdoor bar.

The living room boasts a supermodern fireplace.

The 5,820-square-foot, “modern mountain”-designed home boasts two full kitchens for entertaining.

Last year, the residence was entered into the 2023 Parade of Homes and received over 1,000 visitors, according to listing agent Tamara Sherrill, of Re/Max Alliance.

‘It takes a little longer’

So, why is the sales process so drawn out for such famously well-designed homes?

According to Sherrill: “At the $3 million price point, it takes a little longer to find just the right buyer. Compared to other seasons of ‘Rock the Block,’ the homes built for Season 4 are not only the most expensive but the largest they have built in the history of the show.”
