A modern home with 360-degree views of the Seattle skyline had no problem attracting a buyer.
The boxy, three-bedroom residence at 2804 E Spruce St. is pending sale, after hitting the market last month for $1,398,800.
But the well-landscaped, 5,000-square-foot lot in the Emerald City wasn’t always quite this enchanting.
“The current owners hired Shed Architecture to reimagine a wholly new structure,” says listing agent Cherie Hasson. The design firm “took it down to the foundation and rebuilt and added a second level. All the windows were designed to look out onto greenery or views.”
Indeed, the listing photos confirm the surrounding beauty. In the southwest-facing guest room, the city skyline is perfectly framed. From the south-facing row of kitchen windows, all you see is the lush greenery beyond.
“It feels like you’re in the trees,” notes Hasson.
Other spaces within the reimagined residence provide a similarly magical experience. There’s a 462-square-foot rooftop deck with views of both the Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges. Plus, there’s a private balcony just off the master bedroom that overlooks the Bellevue skyline.
Because of its striking design, the dynamic dwelling has been twice featured in publications in recent years: once in Seattle Magazine in 2018 and again on curbed.com in 2019.
But the wonder of this home doesn’t stop at its exterior. Interior details such as the modern, wood-burning fireplace and 10-foot-long, custom-built dining table are just more evidence of a house that was meticulously crafted.
The sleek abode even includes a dedicated space for the next owner’s four-legged family members.
“There’s a pet hospitality station that was designed for their cat, Merle,” says Hasson. “It occupies the space under the staircase and has an enclosed cubby where you can put a cat bed.”
The home is just a few miles from Capitol Hill’s vibrant district and a few more miles to downtown and South Lake Union’s tech corridor. It’s also been rated as highly walkable; it’s just one block from Powell Barnett Park and two blocks from the beloved bakery, Fat’s Chicken & Waffles.
That prime location, plus the home’s picture-perfect design, made for an opportunity the buyer just couldn’t pass up.
In fact, Hasson reports that “the listing attracted six impassioned offers and sold with a strong bidding war last week.”
