$17.5M Lakefront Mansion Is Missouri

Missouri’s most expensive home is a $17.5 million estate in Villages.

The 11-bedroom, 14,467-square-foot mansion sits prominently in an area known appropriately as Billionaire’s Cove and offers up some of the best views of Lake of the Ozarks.

“Every room has a view of the lake,” says listing agent Jonathan Hartenstein, of Lake Ozark Real Estate. “It is located in the most exclusive development, where no house for sale is available under $1 million.”

(A quick peek at the 65079 ZIP code shows nearly 20 other homes for sale that are priced over a million bucks.)

Built in 2022, the mansion is located in The Villages at Shawnee Bend, an exclusive development with 800 acres of natural beauty and 10 miles of pristine water frontage.

A few factors set this mansion apart from other homes in the community, Hartenstein says. “This house is not on a lot. It’s on 13.6 acres, so it’s an estate property. Most homes have 100 feet of lake frontage, but this one has 600 feet.”

The secluded brick estate sits behind wrought-iron gates, and an extra-wide driveway leads to a porte cochere. Additional parking is available in the attached 10-car garage.

The dramatic entry foyer boasts Italian marble flooring and a 40-foot cathedral ceiling. The open floor plan offers spectacular views, and the interior lighting, sound, security, and heating systems can be controlled remotely.

The enormous chef’s kitchen has two islands, “fusion granite countertops,” high-end appliances, and a soaring ceiling.

The wood-paneled library/sitting room features a beautiful coffered wood ceiling and a stately fireplace.

For entertainment, there’s The Pavilion, a “2,500-square-foot building by the pool that has three walls that open,” Hartenstein notes. “There’s a horseshoe bar with full kitchen and a game room with shuffleboard. It’s phenomenally huge. You could host a wedding there.”

The building is lined with televisions and comes with an outdoor kitchen.

For overnight guests, there’s a 2,000-square-foot carriage home.

Located on the lake’s main channel, the property is “tucked into a deepwater cove for maximum dock protection and maximum privacy.”

“There are a lot of billionaires here,” Hartenstein says. “This is the development where Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes come when they are not playing. The home is designed for someone with that kind of wherewithal who wants that kind of privacy. This is the most exclusive development possibly in the state of Missouri. It will likely be a second, third, or fourth residence for the next buyer.”
