Realtor.com

A house for a dollar? Yes, you read that right!

A two-bedroom ranch in Pontiac, MI, is being offered for just $1, making it “the world’s cheapest home“—and also this week’s most popular listing on Realtor.com®.

The charmingly candid description, written by listing agent Chris Hubel, of Good Company, pokes fun at the “slice of Pontiac awesomeness” with its many flaws. Homebuyers are invited to unleash their “inner DIY guru” and turn the fixer-upper into a HGTV-level masterpiece.

Shockingly, the listing received dozens of offers, many of them for substantially more than a buck.

Also grabbing attention this week were an affordable Maine home, a Victorian gem in Illinois, and a 1,739-acre historic ranch in Arizona.

Why it’s here:
Elvis Presley, no doubt wearing his blue suede shoes, was reportedly one of the many celebs who made their way through this gorgeous house.

The exterior of the stone and glass home looks contemporary, but it was actually constructed in 1972. The 15,987-square-foot interior has been entirely modernized and features soaring 42-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, wrought-iron railings, and a custom floating staircase.

There are two kitchens (one of them for food prep), and the eye-popping primary suite comes with a family room, sunroom, laundry room, and coffee bar.

You can certainly imagine the King of Rock and Roll busting out his “rubber legs” dance moves in the roomy wine cellar lined with lava rock.

Price: $29,950,000
Why it’s here:
Who doesn’t dream of owning a 1,739-acre ranch?

The property, which includes an artesian well, is one of the few ranches in the area that has “maintained ownership of the mineral rights for the property,” according to the listing.

1. 70 E Ypsilanti Ave, Pontiac, MI

Price: $1
Why it’s here:
The disarmingly candid listing invites homebuyers to invest in a “real estate adventure of a lifetime.”

The 724-square-foot, two-bedroom ranch needs a full renovation, but there are many reasons to look on the bright side.

The roof might have seen better days, but “it’s not leaking yet, it’s just keeping you on your toes, providing an unexpected shower of excitement when you least expect it,” the listing says.

The moldy bathroom, “floor-hole art,” paint peeling from the walls, an exposed electrical panel, and “overgrown shrubbery inviting local critters for an impromptu garden party” haven’t scared away potential buyers.

Shockingly, this massive home improvement project is pending sale.
