A Chicago home that went through a major renovation on Season 2 of “Windy City Rehab” is now available for $1.6 million.

The popular home-flipping show follows designer Alison Victoria as she goes through the process of finding and renovating historic homes to sell with her signature touches.

Along with the workaday challenges of revamping aging fixer-uppers, the show itself has been the subject of a fair bit of controversy, including legal troubles over a past remodel and permit problems. This all played a role in the backstory of this newly renovated home.

This 1906 home was in major disrepair and had a stop-work order placed on it from the city during demolition due to the discovery of rotting wood floors.

“It’s dangerous, someone could fall through,” Victoria says in the episode.

Her co-star, Donovan Eckhardt, had his general contractor’s and developer’s licenses suspended by the city during the episode, further upending the project plan.

In order to continue to work on the home, Victoria removed her business partner from the project and put a different general contractor in place.

And in the second season of the show with her co-star’s issues continuing to percolate, Victoria reportedly ended her partnership with Eckhardt.

All that said, none of the as-seen-on-TV drama of the episode is apparent in the home’s stylish transformation.

The five-bedroom, 4.5 bathroom home has 3,850 square feet of living space, and combines a mix of modern improvements with vintage details.

The expanded and upgraded home features a kitchen with custom cabinetry and brass shelving, Thermador appliances, and an eight-burner range. An antique hutch houses a custom coffee/wine bar. The kitchen adjoins a family room with fireplace.

Upstairs, there are four bedrooms, including the master suite with a spa-style bath and walk-in closet featuring a vintage island picked out by Victoria on the show.

A spacious mudroom leads to the lower level, which has a wet bar, a large bedroom, an office or exercise room, a full bathroom, and a second laundry room.

The property now includes a small outdoor space, as well as a detached, two-car garage.

“This brand-new home embodies the history and architectural details of a home that’s been in Chicago for 100 years,” the listing notes.

“There is no other house out there that looks like this, not even close,” says listing agent Vincent Anzalone, with Dream Town Realty. “If you want something that’s a one-of-a kind, unique house, this is the one.”

Victoria picked up the property in a woeful state for $488,000 in 2019. After the stylish and practical renovation was completed, the home initially came on the market in July for $1.65 million. It’s since been reduced to $1.6 million.
