The incomparable rock-and-pop artist Rod Stewart is making a big move in the real estate world.

After decades of ownership, the musician is spinning off his stately mansion for $70 million.

Stewart’s Beverly Hills, CA, home is like few others, even by A-list-celebrity standards. The 28,500-square-foot abode has nine bedrooms and 14 baths, along with a three-level guesthouse, two gyms, a pool, and a soccer field.

Stewart’s estate is indeed palatial, as the details and decor feel Versailles-like in nearly every room. Intricate marble floors, fancy paneling, ornate molding, and sparkling chandeliers are the work of famed architect Richard Landry, who custom designed the rocker’s European-style chateau in the 1990s.

Set on more than three acres in the gated North Beverly Park neighborhood, the home sits at the end of a long driveway with a circular motor court, outfitted with a fountain and sculptures. A double staircase rises from the vaulted entryway, which leads to pure elegance at every turn.

The cavernous great room features a hand-painted bar and French doors that open to a covered patio. There’s a gourmet kitchen, tea room, and spectacular den. The home also comes with a wine room, formal dining space for 20 or more, and a library nearby for after-dinner drinks and conversation.

The primary sleep suite has a spacious sitting area and balcony, plus two separate bathrooms that are nearly identical—one is rosy pink and white, while the other sports wood details and dark green stone.

Want more? There’s also a screening theater, tennis court, hobby room, outdoor fireplaces, barbecue space, and sprawling lawns.

Stewart, 78, has sold more than 250 million records across the globe. His many hits include “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy,” “Maggie May,” and “You’re In My Heart.” The legendary performer is finally showing signs of slowing down, but he’s definitely going out in style. Stewart is currently on a farewell tour that includes stops in eight countries.

Michelle Oliver, of Douglas Elliman, has the listing.
