Popcorn Classic? A Movie-Themed Vacation Home in Florida Takes a Starring Role

Get the popcorn ready. Oscar fever is a year-round condition at this over-the-top vacation home in Florida.

“I’m pretty familiar with Hollywood, and this is just like walking into the Oscars,” says listing agent Edward Johnston. “When you drive up, Oscar is literally out front and just sets the stage with the red carpet.”

For a buyer in search of quasi-celebrity vibes in Central Florida, the VIP Hollywood Experience Mansion in Davenport, FL, is on the market for $11.75 million.

“When you walk in, it’s like Hollywood Boulevard with all different stars’ names literally in the floor,” Johnston says.

All 14,297 square feet of the massive residence are movie-themed, including each of the 20 bedrooms—all with en suite baths.

Movie buffs will love the technology that echoes the cinematic theme.

“You could walk into the ‘Rocky’ room, open the door, and the music plays to ‘Rocky,’” Johnston says. “If you walk into the ‘Batman’ room, that music plays.”

Not to worry, though—the music stops after a few seconds.

“It doesn’t play all night,” Johnston laughs.

Two of the bedrooms are bunk rooms with “Star Wars” and “Lion King” themes, perfect for children of all ages.

For indoor entertainment, there’s a half basketball court, bowling alley, game room, and, of course, a movie room.

The home “is your own experience,” Johnston says. “Staying there, you have everything you need, and you don’t have to leave the property. All your amenities are there.”

Outside, the Hollywood theme continues, and there is plenty of space surrounding the pool and lazy river to soak up the Florida sun or grab a drink at the tiki bar.

“I can honestly say every time I go there, I see something new,” Johnston says. “You can be in different parts of the home and fall in love with certain things.”

Befitting a home that can house multiple families, the kitchen is enormous. It features four double Sub-Zero refrigerators, two cooktops, two double ovens, and a wine cooler.

A nearby dining room offers seating for 37 and is situated near the main living areas.

“The living room has an LED-paneled wall movie theater, where the entire wall is a screen,” Johnston explains.

For guests who just can’t pry themselves away from work, the home is equipped with a large conference room.

“The house is so big, and it’s fun and magical; but at the same time, it’s set up for business,” Johnston says. “So for people who want to come with their families and maybe a few board members from their company, the family can be having their own adventure in the home—and the others can be in a meeting.”

The property will be one of four short-term vacation rentals in a gated compound about 20 minutes from the Disney theme parks. This one was completed in 2021. Another is almost finished. Each will have a different theme.

This Hollywood home rents for around $5,000 a night, with a three-night minimum. And according to Johnston, business is extremely brisk.

“I just got the latest update of bookings, and we’ve already exceeded $1.1 million in bookings for this year,” he reports.

So, who might be the ideal owner for this silver-screen-themed blockbuster?

“I think the perfect buyer is going to be an investor that also wouldn’t mind using it for their family getaways,” Johnston says.
