GAMLS: Atlanta home sales jump month over month

Atlanta home sales rose dramatically on a month-over-month basis in February as active and new listings declined, Georgia MLS reported, citing its 12-county Housing Market Snapshot.   

By unit, home sales jumped 30.6% month over month to 4,022 properties. By dollar volume, sales came in at $1.78 billion, up 38.5% from January. However, on an annual basis, the number and value of homes sold fell 20.6% and 24.6%, respectively. 

The median sales price of homes sold was $371,405, up 3.2% from $360,000 in January and 1.5% from $366,000 in February 2022.   

New listings slid 5.4% month over month and 13.3% year over year to 5,740, while active listings were down 8.5% on a monthly basis and up 67.2% on a yearly one, at 9,585.   

Georgia MLS’ 12-county report includes Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale counties.
