The fulfillment of one family’s dream is now the most expensive home for sale in Ohio.

The sprawling estate—known as Ravencrest, in Hunting Valley—is on the market for $15 million.

“It’s 153 acres in the most coveted section of Northeast Ohio, so to be able to buy a piece of land like this is really extraordinary,” says listing agent Adam Kaufman, with Howard Hanna. “On top of that, the house itself is just unbelievable,”

The three-level home has an astonishing 35,000 square feet of living space and includes a main-floor primary wing. Five additional bedroom suites are on the second floor.

And while it’s an undeniably huge home, Kaufman insists it doesn’t feel like living in an office park.

“The thing with this house is, it’s big; but it’s comfortable,” Kaufman explains. “It’s just warm. It doesn’t feel cavernous. It sounds weird to say, but it’s not ostentatious. The person who designed the home and built it always wanted people to enjoy the house and feel at home.”

Cleveland-area real estate developer Scott Wolstein built the house for himself and his family in 2009. He died unexpectedly in May.

“Scott just always had a dream of building what he considered to be the ultimate house, and that’s what he did,” Kaufman says of his longtime friend. “It’s meant to look like an old English country house. The site has rolling terrain with incredible views.”

The mansion’s lower level was designed for next-level fun. It includes a home theater, a nightclub (yes, really!) with a stage and karaoke system, a wine cellar, a gym, a two-story climbing wall, an indoor pool with a grotto, and an indoor sport court.

Other highlights include an outdoor pool, a tennis court, a spa/massage room, and even a gift-wrapping room.

And, somehow, that’s not all.

“It has a crafts room that’s just incredible,” Kaufman says. “It has an oven, if you want to cook or do a cooking class. That’s what’s so amazing about this house. There are areas all over the place to entertain.”

The property also includes two beautifully designed carriage houses, which have served as rental units and staff housing.

Even at $15 million, the home represents a real value, Kaufman says. Because at only $391 per square foot, it’s a house most folks on the high-dollar coasts would happily snap up.

“This house is the bargain of the century,” Kaufman asserts. “If you were to duplicate this house today, the structure would cost you between $40 million and $50 million. The land alone is worth the $15 million we’re asking.”

One section of the vast acreage could even be developed. Though the buyer will acquire a turnkey estate with little need for any work beyond upkeep.

“If someone didn’t like the color of the room [they could change it], but there’s nothing that this house lacks,” Kaufman says, “Anything you could possibly think of is in this house.”
