If you’re intrigued by ghosts and ghouls and things that go bump in the night, have we got some houses for you!

The five homes listed below—all for sale—have long had documented histories of ethereal apparitions. To some, it’s a sign to be afraid, very afraid, and to run in the opposite direction.

Others who are less startled by the supernatural may like the haunted histories as great conversation starters, and perhaps a way to get a scary good deal on a property that may cost more without all the spooky stuff.

We see them as perfect browsing for the Halloween weekend. Please enjoy these boo-tiful dwellings.

279 Highway 14 W, Marion, AL

Price: $1,050,000
Carlisle-Martin House: Slightly north of a million bucks sounds like a great price for a historic, eight-bedroom, 3.5-bath, 7,959-square-foot estate on a 19-acre lot. No rational buyers would balk at the rumors of a ghost of a young woman in the fourth-floor tower room, awaiting the return of her lover.

Or would they?

After all, the mansion, originally built in 1858, is one of the best examples of Italian-style architecture in the South. It’s been beautifully restored and has grand features like handcarved wood staircases, crystal chandeliers, and 12 fireplaces.

It’s also a working Arabian horse ranch. This equine estate is actually featured in folklorist Kathryn Tucker Windham‘s book “Thirteen Alabama Ghosts and Jeffrey.” In this instance, the hauntings appear to be a selling point.

314 S Florida Blanca St, Pensacola, FL

Price: $975,000
Birger Axelson House: This historic home built of cypress is said to be haunted by not one, but two ghosts. One is a friendly and helpful signalman, who once lit the way for a family member lost at sea, and has more recently been seen using Morse code to signal from the house to the general public. The other ghost is purportedly of a former homeowner who has been seen in a window, gazing out across the bay.

Located near Pensacola Bay (in a non-flood zone), the three-bedroom, two-bath, 1,932-square-foot home was built in 1897 and has been resisting hurricanes for more than a century. Although it’s located in the downtown’s historic district, the city will allow owners to add a carriage house, garages, and a pool. A little updating could be in store for the interior, whether the spirits like it or not.

N3041 King St, Humbird, WI

Price: $279,900
Humbird Hotel Bar & Grill: This might be the only place in the U.S. where you can live, eat, drink, rent a room, and ghostbust all in one convenient location. The current owner tells stories of guests seeing ghosts walking the halls and crawling the walls.

In fact, the team from Supernatural Investigators of Minnesota has visited the hotel several times with tracking equipment. The team claims the 1869 build, which features six guest rooms and a separate 1,800-square-foot owner’s quarters, is buzzing with supernatural activity.

The living space could do with a few renovations, but the bar and restaurant, which is still in operation, will convey with everything in the building—liquor license, bar items, furnishings, fixtures, and specters.

562 5th Ave, Troy, NY

Price: $399,999
Enslin House: This Hudson Valley home is rumored to be haunted by nine ghosts and a gangster named John T. “Legs” Diamond. It’s also a short-term rental on Airbnb, where the host offers a “Spookeasy Dinner/Ghost Tour/Mentalism show” as an added attraction for $125 per person.

The homeowner, who identifies as an intuitive alchemist and empath, says her family has owned the house for six generations. They’ve been careful to maintain the home’s original tin ceiling, Florentine doors, hardwood floors, and other period features from 1925.

Zoned for commercial use, the four-bedroom, two-bath residence could be repurposed as a cafe, bookstore, or boutique. But you wouldn’t want to let patrons go into the basement. That’s apparently where the apparitions gather.

31 Old Beach Rd, Newport, RI

Price: $4,395,000
George Champlin Mason House: This classic Victorian bed-and-breakfast is often frequented by the living (aka paying guests). The original owner, however, stays for free. Though he died in 1894, his spirit is believed to be haunting the charming, 11-suite inn.

The property has been on and off the market for over a year now, and the current listing makes no mention of ghosts. A former owner had reported sightings of George C. Mason, the original architect of the 5,838-square-foot house built in 1873, arriving home from his day at work.

There have also been reports of the appearance of a lady of the house in Victorian attire, descending the stairs, and of a woman with a baby in a nursery, sitting in an Edwardian chair.

In addition to the spirits, the new owners will also take possession of the lovely furnishings, which are included in the sale.
