When you think of Oscar winner Sandra Bullock, the first words that come to mind are probably not “organic farmer.”
But that’s one of the many things she’s been up to over the past 13 years, as the proud owner of a 91-acre ranch with hundreds of organic avocado, citrus, and olive trees.
All that’s about to come to an end for her, however, as she puts her ranch in Valley Center, in northern San Diego County, on the market for $6 million, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The property, which Bullock purchased in 2009 for $2,725,000, consists of three lots, each with its own distinctive flavor.
3 lots, 1 big farm
The first lot is the heart of the property. It features a 1990-built adobe ranch home that’s been fully renovated.
The hacienda-style house measures 5,938 square feet and has four bedrooms and 5.5 baths. It’s designed around a courtyard with a fountain and flowering vines, typical of classic Spanish homes.
Numerous fireplaces can be found throughout the property.
The design feels “old school,” with its red-tiled roof, adobe brick walls, and high-beamed ceilings. But it also has a modern vibe, with a large eat-in kitchen with a La Cornue range and other state-of-the-art appliances.
The main house is controlled by Crestron Smart Home and security systems.

Outdoor features include a saltwater pool, spa, pool house, solar panels, electric charging station, and backup generator. There’s also a charming chicken coop.
As for lot No. 2, it’s mostly land for building a house, barn, or equestrian facilities. Lot 3 measures 30 acres and includes a three-bedroom, two-bath manufactured home; more building sites; orchards; and fully watered land ready to be planted.
Lot 3 can be purchased separately.
Congenial real estate
Over the years, Bullock has picked up a number of homes in Austin, TX; Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and Malibu, CA; Georgia’s Tybee Island; Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood; New Orleans‘ Garden District; and a ski house with equestrian facilities in Jackson, WY.
And with all that real estate wheeling and dealing, the actress, 58, has managed to star in more than 50 films, including “Speed,” “Miss Congeniality,” “The Blind Side” (for which she won her Oscar), “Gravity,” and earlier this year, “The Lost City.”
