Atlanta home sales surge in June by dollar amount as median price stays flat 

Atlanta-area home sales by dollar volume jumped in June, rising 58.8% month over month and 50.4% year over year to $5.39 billion.  

The number of houses sold in June was 6,883, down 1.5% from May and 19.4% from June 2021, Georgia MLS reported, citing its monthly housing snapshot.  

The median sales price of homes sold was up 0.3% month over month and 17.5% year over year, at $411,375.  

New listings in June totaled 10,793, a 17% increase from May and a 7.3% increase from last June, while active listings jumped 40% month over month and 55% year over year to 10,332.  

Georgia MLS’ 12-county report includes Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale counties.
