Actor Richard Gere has found a buyer for his picturesque property. The Pound Ridge, NY, country home is pending sale, according to Mansion Global.
The “Primal Fear” actor fearlessly placed the 50-acre estate in Westchester County on the market last October for $28 million. He’d purchased the property in 1986 for $1.5 million.
Over the years, he added multiple structures, including a Colonial-style main house, stables, and a pool.
Idyllic estate
The “magical” property is surrounded by 4,300 acres of protected land, according to the listing. It’s located 50 miles outside of Manhattan.
Highlights include a private lake with a sandy beach, rolling hills for horseback riding, and mature plantings such as weeping willows. The property includes a “hidden” soccer field, according to the listing.
The spacious 11,658-square-foot main house has eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.
Other highlights include formal living and dining rooms, a chef’s kitchen, an office, and a library.

Hamptons home
Gere, 72, had offloaded his Hamptons estate for $36.5 million in 2016, to Matt Lauer, the disgraced former host of the “Today” show.
Lauer listed the Sag Harbor property in 2019 for $44.8 million following his divorce. It was relisted for just under $44 million in 2021, but there’s no record it sold.
Gere’s 6.3-acre waterfront property known as Strongheart Manor comes with a 240-foot-long, deep-water dock, a beach, a pond with a bridge, an island-inspired teahouse, a pool, a basketball half-court, and two guest cottages.
Gere reportedly assembled the spread from three parcels of land he purchased from 2005 through 2008 for $11.3 million.
Gere has appeared in movies beginning in the 1970s and is known for roles in “American Gigolo,” “An Officer and a Gentleman,” and “The Cotton Club.”
