How much space does $1,500 get you in Atlanta?

Like the housing market, apartment rental prospects have transformed in recent years. Our expectations and desires have shifted, with renters searching for more space — often at a higher price tag. But, according to a new study from RentCafe, the costs in Atlanta are somewhat average.

Of the 100 largest cities in the U.S., Atlanta ranked at No. 59 when it came to affordable space. A monthly budget of $1,500, on average, affords you an 821-square-foot apartment. However, the average Atlantan opts for a larger apartment: 973 square feet for $1,777 monthly.

Additionally, other areas within the Atlanta metro offer less expensive alternatives. Clarkston is the suburb which offers the most living space for $1,500 —1,413 square feet — followed by Forest Park (1,347 square feet) and Morrow (1,293).
