Washington Wizards shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has scored a mansion in Potomac, MD, the Washington Business Journal reports.

KCP was traded by the Los Angeles Lakers in August, and plunked down a hefty $4.9 million for the posh property near the nation’s capital.

Set in a pastoral part of Potomac, the elegant estate initially came on the market in November 2020 for just under $6 million.

In March this year, the price was lowered to $5.5 million, and was then dropped again in May to $4,999,999.

Those price cuts put it right within this shooter’s range. Caldwell-Pope, 28, bought the place in September, before the tip-off of the 2021-22 NBA season.

Baller abode

Built in 2017, the place is quite a catch. A sprawling 11,800 square feet, its layout includes six bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

Stately and stylish, the home’s design evokes summer homes in the Hamptons and Nantucket. The grand interior features marble, custom millwork, and 14-foot ceilings.

“Embassy-sized” living and dining rooms flank the reception area, and flow into the gourmet kitchen. The high-end space boasts Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, dual marble islands, and a breakfast nook.

An informal eating area opens to a family room with coffered ceilings, a gas fireplace, built-ins, and French doors that lead to the back lawn.

The master suite, up one level, has a private balcony, dual closets, and a bathroom with steam shower and free-standing tub.

The lower level offers a hangout space with a wet bar, home theater, game room, and gym.

Set on a little over an acre, the grounds feature a covered patio with a fireplace, pool, and outdoor kitchen. The place also comes with a professional sports court with a hoop—perfect for this baller to show off his skills.

Other perks include a private study, Control4 home automation, a custom elevator, and heated driveway.

Modern mansion

The transaction took place just after the NBA champion sold his SoCal home in the Westside area of Los Angeles for $4.6 million.

Located in Playa Vista, CA, the sleek build had initially been listed for $4.95 million in July, and quickly sold a month later for slightly under the asking price.

Even with the discount, the sale price left the basketball star with a profit. He had purchased the Silicon Beach mansion for $4 million in 2019.

Recently, however, the home had reportedly been the site of a robbery, and Caldwell-Pope put it on the market a month after the alleged incident.

With five bedrooms and seven bathrooms on 4,544 square feet, the listing describes the open-plan residence as the “premier modern home” in Playa Vista.
