It only makes sense that Don Francisco, host of the long-running and outrageously popular Spanish-language variety show “Sábado Gigante,” would sell his Florida estate for a gigantic price— $3.75 million over asking!

In October 2020, we reported that Mario Luis Kreutzberger Blumenfeld, known to millions worldwide as Don Francisco, put his 7,779-square-foot property on the market for $20 million. Less than a year later, the developer Todd Glaser ended up with the deed, for a reported $23.75 million. Hey, in this post-COVID world, it seems as though almost everyone pays over asking for such primo property.

Since the TV host paid $2,625,000 for it when he first bought it back in 1993, he’ll be pocketing a gigantic profit.

Just about every square inch of the property has been spruced up since the beloved entertainer purchased it. Located on the exclusive, gated, and guarded Miami area island known as Indian Creek Village, the estate was one of only 32 homes, all of them waterfront. His 1.23-acre lot has an elite country club golf course in front, and 118 frontage feet of warm-water channel in back.

Of course, there’s a private dock big enough for a yacht on the channel side.

The 300-acre private island on which the property is located is known as the “Billionaire Bunker,” and has been the home of a number of wealthy public figures over the years, including the billionaire Carl Icahn, the singer Julio Iglesias (who reportedly sold a 2-acre lot to Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner for $32 million). Don Francisco fit right in.

The luxe living space is divided between a guesthouse and a main house. The property has a total of six bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms.

The mansion is fronted by a large motor court with a modern rectangular fountain in the center.

The main residence features a double-height entry foyer, formal living and dining rooms, a family room, and a chic library with an attached study.

Francisco, 80, was born in Chile, and went on to delight Spanish-speaking TV viewers for generations. He started the iconic “Sábado Gigante,” which was part variety show, part talk show, and part game show, in 1963, and various iterations of the program continued to air for 53 years. He also hosted Spanish-language versions of “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire,” “Deal or No Deal,” and his own talk show on Telemundo until 2018.

The seller is represented by Danilo Tavares with The Chad Carroll Group at Compass. The buyer is represented by Dina Goldentayer with Douglas Elliman.
