The former New York Jets wide receiver Wayne Chrebet is letting go of his Colts Neck, NJ, home. The mansion is now on the market for $1.75 million.

The New Jersey native, who grew up in nearby Garfield, NJ, purchased the home for $1,445,000 in 1999, when he starred for the Jets. Colts Neck is also the home of golf courses that include the Trump National Golf Club.

Built in 1996 and located behind a long, gated driveway, the five-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom, 6,800-square-foot mansion offers a double-door entry.

Those doors open into a foyer with soaring ceilings, a spiral staircase and an open, airy layout. A two-story great room features wood floors, a wall of windows, and a fireplace. Opposite the living area is a formal dining room with a tiered chandelier.

The “newer” gourmet kitchen offers a granite center island, two dishwashers, a commercial Viking stove, and a Sub-Zero fridge. The kitchen adjoins a casual dining area.

Also on the main level, you’ll find a wood-paneled office with built-ins and a separate entry, as well as a powder room and guest bedroom.

Upstairs, the master suite includes a reception foyer, two walk-in closets, and spalike bathroom with a tiled soaking tub and separate shower. Three more bedrooms can be found on this floor.

On the lower, walk-out level, entertainment options include a game room, bar, home theater, as well as another guest bedroom and bathroom.

Set on 3.3 acres that back on to a greenway preserve, the gorgeous grounds include a saltwater pool, a patio with a built-in grill and bar for outdoor dining and entertaining. The acreage sports a stocked pond, with boat, gazebo, and dock, a playground, and a horse shed and paddock. A three-car garage completes the property.

The Hofstra University graduate enjoyed success in his college playing days, but his small stature prevented him from being considered a true NFL prospect. However, Chrebet snagged a walk-on opportunity with the Jets in the summer of 1995 and never looked back.

The “rags to riches” star went on to star for the Jets for 11 seasons, catching 580 passes and scoring 41 touchdowns. His popularity even led to a cameo for his No. 80 jersey, worn by a supporting character in the 2003 Will Ferrell movie “Elf.”

Retired from the game since 2005, Chrebet, 47, has served as an assistant vice president with Barclays in the wealth and investment management division.  In 2014, he was inducted into the New York Jets Ring of Honor. He currently co-hosts the Underdog Jets Podcast, with Robby Sabo.

Patricia Inglese with Robert Defalco Realty holds the listing.
