The Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy is selling his medalworthy home. The posh Los Angeles penthouse is currently listed for $2.25 million with Justin Alexander and Jeremy Lingvall of Compass.

The freestyle skier also gets major style points off the slopes. Kenworthy, one of the first openly gay Olympic athletes, is living the good life in his fab redone West Hollywood pad, which was featured in Architectural Digest last winter.

AD called the home of the athlete and actor “chic and playful.”

Now that the project is complete, the Olympian isn’t slaloming away from the L.A. area. According to Lingvall, he’s moving on to another project in SoCal.

The self-described “dog dad” shared his apartment and the spotlight with his adorable pup, Birdie, who was rescued from a Korean dogmeat farm during the 2018 Olympics, according to Birdie’s Instagram account.

The tongue-in-cheek postings include this one from the master bedroom.

The skier, who is British-American and grew up in Telluride, CO, bought the place in 2018 for $1.6 million.

He then tapped designer Orlando Soria to remodel the space.

The project landed on Soria’s HGTV show, “Build Me Up.” The highlight of the finished product is the jaw-dropping outdoor space—a 1,500-square-foot, ipe wood, split-level space that features custom railings, an outdoor kitchen with sitting areas, a dining area, and enviable vistas of Los Angeles.

“This, for me, is the reason I love the apartment,” Kenworthy says of the deck, at the time of the big reveal. Naturally, he posted a photo of himself on Instagram basking on the redone deck.

The indoor spaces are equally eye-catching. The chic, contemporary design includes three bedrooms and three bathrooms, on 1,789 square feet of living space. The renovation, which took a year, resulted in an open living and dining area with a fireplace. A built-in window seat and bookcase were both added during the renovation.

Other updates include hand-scraped Roman plaster walls, wainscoting, crown molding with matching baseboards, and soaring ceilings, for a light and airy feel.

The primary suite, in shades of charcoal, includes a large butterfly marble, dual-head shower and double walk-in closet. A second bedroom suite, also with a walk-in closet, sits on the upper level. The home is also outfitted with a custom-built wraparound sofa, as well as custom light fixtures and chandeliers made by local designers.

In addition to his skiing skills, Kenworthy, 29, has a budding Hollywood career. He landed the role as Chet Clancy on the FX show “American Horror Story: 1984.”

Winner of a silver medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics, he is now looking ahead to the 2022 Beijing Games. In addition to his Olympic medal, he’s a five-time X Games medalist.

He also has an eye for real estate. We look forward to seeing more of his home projects.
